Gardeners Market

The Barn Restaurant, launched a Gardener’s Market, to create a trading platform for Gardeners to trade their homegrown fruit and vegetables. In return for fresh produce, they will exchange dining vouchers that can be redeemed at the restaurant. The value of the voucher is determined by the quantity of produce.

To trade simply visit The Barn Restaurant, 507 Lower Rainham Road, Rainham, 
Kent, 
ME8 7TN on Wednesdays and Thursdays mornings, between 10:30 and 11:00am. To trade all produce must be grown naturally – no use of chemicals and delivered fresh.

The reason Gardener’s Market was launched was to increase the restaurants supply of homegrown fruit and vegetables. The taste of homegrown fruit and veg is incomparable with those bought from a supermarket. Commercially produced fruit and veg may look great, but that cannot always be said about the taste.

Have a go at growing fruit and veg. It’s actually very easy and quite satisfying. If you’re extremely successful your harvest could be rewarded with a night out.
