History

The Barn Restaurant sits on the land known as the “Old House” which has been registered in the local area since 1480. The structure was actually moved timber by timber in 1973 from Essex and rebuilt in its traditional form – it has been of course added to over the years to accommodate different types of businesses.

The land The Barn sits on gives essence to the building with the history of the people who have lived and worked on the land over the centuries adding to the tapestry of stories told and re told over the years. After a succession of numerous business trading since 1973 the Barn Restaurant as it is opened for trade in June 1992 and is looking forward to celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year.
